40 Meter Vertical at FD 99
A two element, 40 meter vertical is guarded by a pair of Palm Trees at the Hi-QRP Field Day 99 site. This antenna used a pair of verticals, one as a driven element, one as a reflector. Both were supplied by a pair of elevated radials held up by the smaller posts. A red flag helps keep people from discovering the elevated radials the hard way. Since the verticals are full 1/4 wave on 40 meters, you can appreciate the size of the Palm Trees. Note also the density of the unmolested tropical forest in the background.
