received his undergraduate education at the University of Calgary, Canada, and his Ph.D. from the University of Hawaii at Manoa, in 2003. After postdoctoral work at the Scripps Institution of Oceanography in San Diego , California , from 2003-2006, he returned to the University of Hawaii to join the faculty as an assistant professor. His research interests focus on natural products chemistry, isolation and structure determination, method in natural products, the process of drug discovery, and developing techniques for disease diagnosis.
